The mythic mother of the Jews, Sara, dies as the New Year is born.
Sara's laughter, after the birth of Isaac (her only child), is
revealed in the Bible, but her cries and wails on hearing of
the sacrifice of Isaac, are concealed. Between Sara's laughter
and her cries, a dizzying world of feeling, memories and unanswered questions surfaces.
By weaving ancient legends and modern storylines, comedy and
powerful visual imagery, Sara emerges a character replete with
the ambivalences that brought about the ancient conflict between
Arab and Israeli that continues to threaten us to this day.

"The most interesting performance of the festival!! This wise performance
was played as if the actresses were telling their own story - the story
of a woman in the past, today, forever!"
Gazeta Wyborcza - National Daily.
"Unusually powerful!... stirring! A plunge into Jewish culture yet
conveying a universal message of the power of motherly love."
