Vehigadeta: The Incarnation of a Story
More details
A Special Literary and Theatrical Evening for Passover: on the tradition of telling and retelling.
On the power of the written word to preserve memory from the past and create fresh meaning in the present.
At the heart of the evening is an original creation by Gabriela Lev, woven from traditional texts and songs
- from the Bible, the Haggadah, contemporary poetry and personal writing -
alongside living testimony and contemporary literature, exploring how culture is told and how memory is carried.
During the event, we will examine how the words written at this time converse with the voices of the past,
and how the ancient commandment “vehigadeta levincha” continues to exist as a living and renewed literary act in contemporary work.
